The first documented mention of football in St Asaph appears in a book “ Companion to Asaph”.. published in 1888. According to the author a club called St Asaph Football Club that had been in existence for some time became St Asaph Athletic Football Club in 1885.
In 1887 the team reached the final of the North Wales Junior Cup. At that time the team played at Elwy Park Grove, the present venue of St Asaph Football Club. The club currently competes in the third tier of Welsh football in the Ardal North West League.
We take great pride in our junior section and our teams who play in the Rhyl & District Junior league. The club has long committed to providing a safe, fun environment for children to play and develop their footballing skills. We support our junior coaches through their coach education with a hope to seeing some of our young stars represent the senior team in years to come.
Please contact us if you are looking for a football team for your child to join or would like to step into a coaching role with us.
